'Royal' Line's ROYAL EDWARD and ROYAL GEORGE of 1910 (ex-Egyptian Mail Line)

A magnificent artist's rendering on a line-issued postcard advertising the Royal Line's (aka the Canadian Northern Railway) handsome sisterships ROYAL EDWARD and ROYAL GEORGE depicted passing each other at sea.  Quite a rare bird....CHOICE and SPECIAL!!
The Royal Line would acquire these two fine steamers (both originally built in 1907) after the Egyptian Mail Line folded after a little over three years in operation, renaming them ROYAL GEORGE (ex-HELIOPOLIS) and ROYAL EDWARD (CAIRO).
Sadly, the First World War would claim the ROYAL EDWARD, being torpedoed while serving as a troopship in the Aegean Sea in 1915, with 935 souls going down with the ship.  The ROYAL GEORGE would be sold off to the Cunard Line in 1916 (and nicknamed "Rolling George"), finally going to the scrappers in 1922.
This lovely postcard is in excellent condition.
