    Description

Custom Framed Set of Three Miniature Persian Hand Painting on Bone.
This custom framed set of three paintings was purchased in the early 80's at a high-end auction style estate sale in Englewood Cliffs North Jersey.  L
ooking to relocate and have to start reducing the amount of art.  I'm posting another piece that was bought at the same time from the same estate.  These two have always hung over each other and are very striking.
At the time we purchased the auctioneer said they were framed antiques but could not offer any documents or certifications.  They are certainly vintage now and most collectors of vintage and antiques can tell the gilded wood frame has some age to it.
Framed in Mid-Century style with clean simple lines.  The piece can look
    classical
or more modern depending on the to
    décor
it is used in.  Framed piece is 8 7/8" heigh  by 8 7/8 " wide and only 3/4 " deep.
The actual paintings on bone pieces are 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" wide X 4 1/4" to 4 3/4" high and adhered on a black backdrop with a simple textured antiqued frame.  I have not opened this framed piece to examine in any way to see how it was
    attached
or if it is signed on the back.
Please let me know if you have any further questions or would like more pictures of this piece.
Here is some information I found on the web regarding the Origin of these miniature paintings:
Suratgari figurals have origins from the Persian Timurid Dynasty (1369-1500) where a national style of miniature painting was created.
